Who doesn’t like the clean and elegant look of a French manicure? It is amazing how it works for both formal & casual occasions. A french manicure can be expensive when done in a beauty parlor. You can save a lot of money by doing it at home and here’s how-
Items Required
1. White Polish
2. Clear Polish
3. Pale Pink Polish (Optional)
3. Nail Polish Remover
4. Earbud/Brush
Step 1 Use a nail polish remover to get rid of any old nail polish before painting your nails and shape them evenly.
Step 2 With a steady hand apply the white nail paint only to the tips of the nails. You may need a second coating if the nail paint isn’t opaque enough.
Step 3 Optional: You can also coat the entire nail with a transparent pink or nude color.
Step 4 It’s ok if it got a little messed up, just soak an ear-bud/brush in polish remover and clean the bottom of the line.
Step 5 Last but not the least, as soon as it dries, apply a clear topcoat to protect your new French manicure.
Additional Tips:
1. Make sure that you have a certain length of nails as French manicure will not look good on very short nails
2. I prefer long, squared-off nails over shorter, rounded nails
3. Once the white tips have dried, you can paint the entire nail with a slightly transparent pink or nude color (Note: this is if you like the pinkish French manicure versus the natural one)
4. After you are done with the French manicure, let it dry for 30 mins
Note that if its your first stint with French manicure, it may be difficult to get the white tips perfectly but all you need is some practice and a little patience 🙂

Super stuff !! 😀
thanks Kritika 🙂
A really good way to get the white paint on neatly is :
1. Use clear tape to cover the part of nails you dont want paint on.
2. OR just get tips with your DIY set. 🙂
A clear tape works great too 🙂 But I prefer doing it myself. Thanks for the tip though!

Thats true. The french manicure will not look great if the nails are too long or too short. Thanks for the compliment 🙂
Go to Sally’s beauty suplpy or your local suplpy store and purchase acrylic remover. You can also purchase pure acetone. Be sure to use a glass bowl. Soak 4 fingers at a time. Get an orangewood stick to so you can scrap the acrylic when it gets gummy. It will be messy but it won’t take to long. Once you get down to your own nail, take a white buffing block and gently buff off the remaining residue. Apply a clear nail hardener. I’ve tried the soaking with the cotton balls but its takes longer and I don’t like the idea of it being wrapped under foil. The acetone needs to breath because the vapors can be toxic if there isn’t enough ventilation.
not as easy as it looks!!!!
