Wearing My Own – Vintage Dress

If I were an actress on a red carpet being asked “who are you wearing?” question, I am certain I would say: “Well!  I am wearing me, actually.”

There are very few things that bring me as much joy as designing my own clothes. Not only is it rewarding to wear something that actually fits you perfectly but also nice knowing that you wont run into someone on the street wearing the same outfit.

If you follow me on , you already know that I am currently in Jammu. My mom runs a boutique here (Yes! Thats where I got those design genes from) and playing around in her workshop is my favourite pastime. Last one week has been all about designing dresses, tunics, cover-ups, skirts & ethnic wear . This time I thought I would document about it and maybe cover it in a couple of posts – what I designed and how I would style the same.

Jammu as a city, is actually quite relaxing. Let’s compare. Bangalore: Loud, crowded, everyone just struggling to make ends meet, constantly attempting to hustle across town against the traffic. So the clothes that I have been designing are reflecting my current mood. Starting with this laid back vintage dress I designed. To add a vintage touch, I went ahead with the wooden buttons and styled it with a criss-cross wedge sandals and a top bun.
