You don’t have to be Sherlock Holmes to uncover the secret to always looking put together , which reminds me that the next season of Sherlock is only coming out in 2016- sad! Lets leave that for some other time. Currently I am in Jammu for 2 weeks and that means I no longer have to wait for my Europe trip to materialise to wear a nice warm overcoat and feel all Parisian in it.
Living in Bangalore or anywhere south of India does not give you the opportunity to warm up to some stylish overcoats. And we certainly end up envying those Brit chics wondering if they were born with an innate sense of easily throwing on that stylish overcoat and heading out shopping for few more. Come to think of it, north India does get very cold and warm overcoats are every bit a necessity here. Simply top off your look with a sleek overcoat, and the chicness factor of your sweater-and-denim ensemble will multiply instantly.
Now you may say that black coats are classic and versatile. I agree. But, wearing the same black all the time in a foggy and sometimes gloomy weather can get a little drab, no? Having a coat in a colour you love will always make a really cold day easier to bear. It also feels a little more unique in a sea of black coats! Invest in bright colour overcoat to add to your look this winter and I assure it will be worth it.
1. Minimal: Pair your overcoat with muted tones of gray, white , black or brown
2. Casual: Try it with a striped T-shirt, jeans and sneakers
3. Hepburn: With a scarf on and cat-eyed liner
4. Clean: Go for a white-on-white ensemble. Classic, clean with a colour punch!
5.Feminine: Wear it with a dress and boots and you are good to go.
Here is how I styled my bright overcoat.
Top: Marks & Spencer
Lipstick: Rebel by MAC
If you’ve already got a classic overcoat, then it might be time to invest in a more statement-making piece in a bright, vivid colour. So make a bold fashion statement while still keeping it utterly functional.
